- We are currently using 1-800 dialup to let our field engineers (FEs) access our
- service database. The FEs use 14.4 analog modems to access a bank of 14.4
- analog modems at our corporate site. Our tests show that the once the call
- connects, it takes about 20 seconds for the modems to negotiate before the
- login procedure can take place.
-
- I am looking at replacing our modem bank at the corporate site with digital
- modems accessed directly through a T1. Will that significantly lower the
- modem negotiation time? Any one have figures on this? Thanks.
